So recently we have gotten into craft cocktails, and I suppose it started with our first visit to a Philadelphia speakeasy, Hop Sing Laundromat, back in the fall. Here's one of our recent favorite concoctions....it really is delicious, and I never thought I would like gin (although it tastes nothing like gin so don't be afraid to try)!
Fresh mint
Peeled cucumber
1oz fresh lime juice
1oz Gin
1oz Elderflower Liquor
Simple Syrup (optional)
Muddle together 10-12 mint leaves with 6 chunks of peeled cucumber and 1oz elder flower liquor (like St Germaine). Then add 1oz gin. Then add 1oz fresh lime juice (must be fresh!). Then add 1oz simple syrup (optional). Shake with ice and double strain (you can use a regular strainer or none at all, whatever your preference) into a martini glass. Enjoy!
